Ivey A. Lamm, Jr. 80 of Lucama passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday, July 14, 2014. He was born in Wilson County February 1, 1934 to Ivey A. and Louisa Lamm of Lucama. He married the love of his life, Vivian Rose Johnson of Smithfield, NC on June 10, 1961. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Lucama United Methodist Church, 403 S Main Street, Lucama with Rev. Joe Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will follow in the Stephen Lamm Cemetery. Ivery graduated as salutatorian of his class in 1952 from Lucama High School. He attended N.C. State and graduated from Atlantic Christian College in 1956 with a BA degree in Mathematics. He was known for his unbelievable talent of playing the piano by ear. Ivey was an entrepreneur and very good at doing many things. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Katherine and his sisters, Marjorie Burgess and Louise Radford. Ivey is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Vivian Lamm of the home; his daughter, Elizabeth Lamm Evans Peterson of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Matthew and Savannah Evans of Raleigh; to them he was their beloved PaPa; sisters, Sylvia Lamm of Lucama, Wanda Moore of Wilmington and Josephine Beattie formerly of Middletown, CT; ten nieces and nephews and his two special canine friends, Martin and Charlie.
