Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Sauls Montague, 91, of Wilson, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Montague had a servant’s heart, and devoted most of her life in widespread volunteer work, beginning at thirteen years old teaching Sunday school, and was a great friend to everyone she met. She also owned and operated the Great American Cookie Company location in Wilson for eight years, and was very proud of raising her four children.
The family will be announcing a memorial service at a later date.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Montague; sons, Jerry Montague and his wife, Cathy, of Stockton, California, and Michael Montague, of Bryant, Arkansas; daughters, Suzanne Rusnak and her husband, Richard, of Wilson, North Carolina, and Vicki Henriksson, of Wilson, North Carolina; grandchildren: Amanda Montague, of Stockton, California, Jennifer Farias and her husband, Andrew, of Boise, Idaho, Nicholas Montague and his wife, Malorie, of Omaha, Nebraska, Mallory Melara and her husband, Kevin, of San Diego, California, Andrew Montague and his wife, Stephanie, of Livermore, California, and Linda Quick and her husband, Brandon, of Greenville, North Carolina, John Rusnak and his wife, Ashley, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Jacob Montague of Wilson, North Carolina, Eric Montague of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Sam Bell of Wilson, North Carolina; great-grandchildren: Emma Grace Farias, Emmanuel Farias, Abigail Farias, Colton Montague, Madison Montague, Mason Montague, Mario Melara, Diego Melara, Luke Montague, ShiWoo Quick and Hannah Quick.
Preceding her in death are her father, Sam Sauls; mother, Willa Williams; step-father, Wright Williams; and sister, Jean Baldwin.
