Jacquelyn Marie Barnes July 21, 1942 – February 10, 2018 Jacquelyn “Jackie” Marie Barnes, 75, of Wilson passed away Saturday. Her funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Farmington Heights Church, Wilson. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening immediately following the service at Farmington Heights Church, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at her residence. Jackie worked at BB&T for over forty-three years, retiring as a banking officer. She was an active member of Farmington Heights Church assisting with teaching, accounting, and cooking apple jacks for bake sales. Jackie loved to cook and try new recipes. Jackie is survived by her brother, Sammy Barnes and wife, Peggy of Wilson; her sisters, Mary Gray Crumpler and husband, Carris of Wilson, Eleanor R. Barnes of Wilson, and Frances Brantley of Bailey; sister-in-law, Christine Barnes of Wilson; ten nieces and nephews; fifteen great nieces and nephews, and five great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam W. and Matilda Barnes; her brothers, Leland “Pete” Barnes and sister-in-law, Bonnie, and Benjamin “B.L.” Lee Barnes; her infant sisters, Ester May Barnes, and Alice Lee Barnes, and brother-in-law, Samuel Brantley. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Jackie’s honor to Farmington Heights Church, Senior Fund, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
