James William Bissette August 15, 1945 – January 30, 2016 James “Jay” William Bissette, 70, of Bailey passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 after a long battle of health issues. His funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. The Chaplin with the Bailey Fire Department, Callie Bissette will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Jay was well known for the love he had for his family and friends, he never met a stranger. He was a member of the Bailey Volunteer Fire Department for over thirty years, which was his second family. Jay was the owner and operator of Bissette Backhoe and Septic Tank. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend; he will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will forever warm the heart. Jay is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Joyce Bissette of the home; his daughter, Lisa Mullins and husband, Steve of Bailey; his granddaughters, Lianne Bissette and husband, Angel of Lucama, Linsey Rebekah Burton and husband, Ray, and Erica Sessoms and husband, T.J. both of Kenly ; his grandson, B.J. Mullins and wife, Taylor of Sharpsburg; his great-grandchildren, Landon, Cameron, and Cheyenne Rodriquez and Brian Bissette, Jameson Burton, Haley and Ryile Mullins; his sister, Inez B. Underwood of Clayton; his brothers, Brooks Bissette, Harvey Bissette, Jr., Mitchell Bissette all of Bailey; his sons of the heart, Anthony Johnson, Will Vick, Steven Bissette, and Robert Bissette, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Nettie Bissette; his sister, Willistine Flowers and his brothers, G.L. Bissette and Lewis Bissette. In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorials in Jay’s memory to the Bailey Fire Department, PO Box 816, Bailey, North Carolina 27807. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
