James Alan Boykin
January 30, 1942 – April 20, 2016
James “Jimmy” Alan Boykin, 74, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.
The family will receive friends before the service Monday from 5 – 6:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Jimmy served his country with honor and pride with the Marine Corps and was a member of the Gold Leaf Detachment 1276. Jimmy worked with the City of Wilson Police Department for fifteen years. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Boykin of the home; his son, Alan Boykin and wife, Yvonne of Black Creek; his sisters, Trish Gilbert of Wilson and Janice Simpson of Southport; his nephews, Taggart Reid of Wilson, Keith Snyder of Southport, and David Snyder of Indiana; one step-granddaughter, and two step-great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph Boykin and Ethel Cockrell Flick, and his brother, Earl Randolph Boykin, Jr.
