James Patrick Carraway

James Patrick Carraway, 71, of Wilson passed away Monday, August 26, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024, in Maplewood Cemtery, 400 College Street NE, Wilson. Pastor Joe Shakour will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 29, 2024, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway W, Wilson.

 Patrick retired after forty-two years of service with IBM. He was a faithful and devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Patrick loved to spend time with family and friends and enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing.

 Patrick is survived by his wife, Deborah Carraway of the home; daughter, Jennifer Penny and husband, Brian of Sims; son, Timothy Patrick Carraway and wife, Courtney of Fuquay Varina; grandchildren, Lance Stott, Kaylin Penny, Cain Penny, Halen Carraway, Jude Carraway, and Myles Carraway, and brother, Steve Carraway and wife, Fran of Cary and furry friend, Gregory, aka Sparky.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sarah Carraway and his brother, Tommy Carraway.

 The family extends a special “thank you” to Ann, Crystal and Yolanda with Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Patrick.
