James "Jamie" Herbert Council, Jr.

James “Jamie” Herbert Council, Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 25.  Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, NC and at other times at the home.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 29 at 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, with interment immediately following at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash Street N, Wilson, NC.  Reverend Tony Parrish will officiate.

Jamie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Angela “Angie” Council; father, James “Toot” Council; daughter, Jama Flanagan and husband, Jake; grandchildren, Jase, Jessa and Jamie Faye Flanagan; and mother-in-law, Dolores Joyner.

Jamie was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Council and father-in-law, Buck Joyner.

Jamie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and will be loved and missed by all.
