James "Jim" Morgan Fitzgerald, III

James “Jim” Morgan Fitzgerald, III, 61, of Wilson passed away on Wednesday, July 5.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 am at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.  Interment will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery, 400 College Street NE, Wilson.  Pastor David Howell of Raleigh will officiate.

Jim was a graduate of Fike High School and UNC Chapel Hill.  He worked faithfully in the banking industry for over twenty years.  Jim also gave back generously to his community through his service as the president of the National Juvenile Diabetes Association, Wilson Arts Council President (2017-2018), and as an active member of the Kiwanis Club.  He will be dearly missed by his community and his loved ones.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Paula Batts Fitzgerald of Wilson; son, Christopher Boyette Fitzgerald of Wilson; former spouse and Christopher’s mother, Faith Langley; sister, Jenny F. Snyder and husband, Paul of Cary; niece, Marty Mangum and husband, Doug of Wylie, TX; great-nephew, Carter Douglas Mangum; and great-niece, Avery Corinna Mangum.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Morgan Fitzgerald, Jr. and Corinna Haynes Fitzgerald; son, Jonathan Langley Fitzgerald; and sister, Martha Haynes Fitzgerald.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Anwar Haidary, the staff of Davida, and Dr. Tom Hooper for their loving attention and devotion to our family.
