James "Jimmy" Albert Massengill, Jr.


James “Jimmy” Albert Massengill, Jr., 80 of Wilson passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Rev. Walt Tyndall will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

 Jimmy served his country with pride and honor with the United States Air Force. He was a former employee of County Line Raceway and was an avid race fan. Jimmy enjoyed dining out, especially at Ray’s Drive In with special friends.

 Jimmy is survived by his brother, James Wade Massengill and wife, Jean of Bristol, Virginia; sister-in-law, Ginger Massengill of Wilson and his nephews, Jerry Lynn Massengill, Jr., Houston Massengill, and Zachary Massengill.

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” McFarlane Massengill in 2021; parents, James and Juanita Massengill, and his brothers, Jerry Massengill, and Thomas Carroll Massengill.
