James "Jimmy" David Strickland

James David Strickland March 5, 1936 – November 6, 2018 James “Jimmy” David Strickland, 82 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Mark A. Harrell and Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Jimmy was an active member for fifty-four years at Forest Hills Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon and Sunday school secretary. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Elizabeth Marie Strickland of the home; daughter, Alice Strickland Lahnstein and husband, Frank of Wilson; son, Michael David Strickland and wife, Laura of Wilson; his granddaughters, Lauren Allison Lahnstein of Clinton and Hannah Rebecca Strickland of Wilson and his aunt, Edna Earle Lamm of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Allison and Daisy Letha Nichols Strickland.
