James LaMastus
July 15, 1931 – December 17, 2018
James LaMastus, 87 passed away Monday morning, December 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Banock, Kentucky.
James is survived by his wife, Josephine; four daughters, Johnnette Parker and husband, Tommy of Macon, Devon Molsey and husband, Ronnie of Spring Hope, Denise Roberson and husband, Larry of Henderson and Annette Roberson and husband, Andy of Henderson; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Jimmy was a United States Navy Veteran who proudly served his country with a total active service of over thirty years. He earned his Good Conduct Medal with an Honorable discharge as a Master Chief Petty Officer. His discipline and attention to detail he learned in the Navy never left him as friends and family can attest to. For example, he wanted everything just right and, in its place, even in his yard. Jimmy was a proud man and carried himself well.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1- 1:45 p.m. with his funeral services following at 2 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey.
