James Owen Tyson

James Owen Tyson, 85, of Wilson passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at Eureka United Methodist Church, 128 N Church Street, Fremont.  

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church, Fremont.

 James served his country with honor and pride with the United States Air Force and was retired from Barnes Trucking Company. 

 James is survived by his daughter, Angela “Angie” Forrest of Wilson; son, John Holland; grandsons, James Glenn Tyson and Christopher Ward; great-grandchildren, Harley Tyson, James Tyson, Hannah Tyson, Damion Tyson, and Meredith Tyson; great-great-grandchildren, Katy Barbour, and Jonathon Tyson; sister, Clara Tyson Sauls of Eureka; nieces, Debbie, Sharon, Lisa and Sabrinia, and his nephews, Jimmy, Mark and Tim.

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Jamie Forbes Tyson Langley and his second wife, Irene Crowder Tyson, son, James Edwin Tyson; sister, Mary Ann Stokes and his brother, Glenn “Buddy” Tyson, Jr.
