James P. Howell June 20, 1930 – February 7, 2015 James P. “J.P.” Howell, 84, of Wilson went to be with the Lord on Saturday. His funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday at West Wilson Church of God, Wilson. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Black Creek Cemetery, Black Creek. The Rev. Steven Edmondson will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at West Wilson Church of God, 3322 NC Hwy 42 W, Wilson and other times at the home of his son, James P. Howell, Jr. J.P. is survived by his daughter, Sandra Howell of Wilson; his sons, James P. Howell, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Wilson and Trent Howell and wife, Melissa of Wilson; his granddaughters, Amanda Doss, Meagan Howell, Brianna Howell, Gabrielle Howell and Emily Brown; his grandsons, Justin Doss and Spencer Howell, and his sisters, Ethel Lamm of Wilson and Shirley Owens and husband, James of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Deans Howell; his sisters, Blanche Lamm and Lucille Stallings, and his brothers, Rev. William K. Howell and Marvin Howell.
