James Albert Skinner, III

James Albert Skinner, III, 76, of Wilson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 20.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at 7:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.  Interment will be private.  Pastor Johnny Hudson and Reverend Stuart Harmon will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23 from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home.

James was a Godly man, generous to everyone around him with his time, gifts, and love.  He faithfully served as a deacon in his church for many years as well as teaching Sunday School.  He also founded a Christ Over Drugs program with his wife and friends, which became like a second family.  James had a heart for people with addiction and lost souls and served his community well throughout his life.  He will be loved and missed by many.

James is survived by his loving wife, Patsy “Pat” Page Skinner; daughter, Michelle Skinner Winstead of Wilson; son, James Albert Skinner, IV of Wilson; grandson, Addison Owens; granddaughter, Bailee Shadding; grandson, Ian Skinner; grandson, Payton Winstead; granddaughter, Christen Winstead; granddaughter, Brittany Winstead; great-grandchildren, Layla Owens, Thomas Owens, Emmalynn Owens, James Owens, Lucas Thompson, Carter Winstead, and Tyson Shadding; brother, Paul Skinner and wife, Pilar of Clearmont, FL; sister, Rebecca Hill; sister, JoAnn Scott and husband, John; brother, Richard Skinner; sister, Mildred Skinner and husband, Kenny; and a host of nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Allen Skinner and Rosa Bridgers Skinner.
