James Alvin Stancil, Jr.

James Alvin Stancil, Jr., 78, of Wilson passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Pastor Craig Simmons will officiate.

The family will receive family and friends from 1 – 2:45 p.m. Monday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, and other times from 12 – 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the home of the Stancil’s.

James is survived by his wife, Catherine Perry Stancil; daughters, Tish Stancil Summerlin and husband, Steve of Wilson, Kelly Stancil Barnes and husband, Billy of black Creek, and Lee Anne Edwards and husband, Justin of Zebulon; grandchildren, Brooke Meador, Sage Meador, Stephen Abrams, Kaitlin Abrams Baker and husband, Alex, Christopher Abrams, Khloe Barnes, and Luke Edwards; great-grandchild on the way in June, Mack James Baker; sister, Marian Stancil Lamm of Wilson, and his nephews, Marshall Bass, George Thompson, and Ashley Stancil.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Peggy Stancil; sister, Joan Thompson; his brothers, Danny Stancil and Steve Stancil, and nephew, Alvin Thompson.
