James Ray Stone

James Ray Stone May 12, 1939 – July 28, 2017 James Ray “Jim” Stone, 78, of Wilson went to be with the Lord on Friday. His funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 2200 Downing Street, Wilson.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  His son, Chris Stone will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening immediately following the service at the church. Jim was married to the love of his life for fifty-seven years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.  Jim served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Navy. Jim is survived by his wife, Jane Cook Stone of the home; his sons, Chris Stone and wife, Kim of Wilson, and Jimmy Stone of Wilson; his granddaughter, Taylor Stone and grandson, Daniel Stone; his sister, Sandra Chappel of Nashville, and his brothers, Glenn Stone and wife, Pat of Wilson, and Dwight Stone and wife, Kathy of Wilson.
