James Ashley Stott
April 4, 1974 – July 20, 2017
James Ashley Stott, 43 of Sims passed away Thursday. His funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Peace Church, 2838 Tilghman Road N, Wilson. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, 9300 Johnson Farm Rd., Kenly. The Rev. Carl Bradshaw will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and 6:30-9 pm Friday evening at the home.
Ashley was a loving husband, father, step-father, son, and friend to many. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. He was the Hydrant Coordinator of the City of Wilson. Ashley was full of life and involved in many activities such as, Mascot for 98.5 The Big Dawg, active with tractor pulling, driving monsters trucks, coached little league baseball and was involved in the Eastern Outlaw Jeep Club. He was also a black belt in karate and was known as “Ashley Son”.
Ashley is survived by his wife, Alice Langley Stott of the home; sons, James Lance Stott and Dalton James Stott and step-son, Campbell Joseph Sollars all of the home; father and stepmother, Freddie and Audrey Stott of Sims.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda C. Stott.
In lieu of flowers donations will be welcomed at any State Employees Credit Union to go towards the children\'s educational needs.
