James Worth Carroll

James Worth “JW” Carroll, 73, of Bailey passed away Tuesday.  A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  The Rev. Ronald Gurganus will officiate.   The family will receive friends Thursday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home.   James is survived by his wife, Joyce Eatmon Carroll of the home; his daughter, Melinda C. Edwards and husband, Jeff of Elm City; his son, Randy Carroll and wife, Penny of Wilson; his granddaughters, Julia Edwards and Megan Carroll; his grandson, Harrison Edwards; his sister, Faye C. Vick of Belhaven and his brothers, Billy Carroll and wife, Barbara of Knightdale and David Carroll and wife, Judy of Bailey.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Virginia Daniel Carroll; his sisters, Frances C. Scott, Shelby C. Skinner and Barbara C. Finch and his brother, Bobby Carroll.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Kidney Foundation, 4701 Hedgemore Drive, Suite 810, Charlotte, NC  28209 or the Heart Association, c/o Phyllis Babb, 1108 Windemere Drive, Wilson, NC  27896.
