Janet Evans Melvin
May 3, 1952 – August 9, 2021
Janet “Nana” Evans Melvin, 69 of Wilson passed away Monday. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Dr. David Radford will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 13, 2021, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Janet was a loving lady who loved her Lord, family, friends, Corvette, pool and especially her kitchen where she was truly at home. Her favorite holiday was Christmas because of her Christmas tree and decorations.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Bobby Melvin; sons, Jonathan Peele (Olga) of Elm City, and Jason Peele (Karen) of Elm City; sisters, Brenda Brewer (Ken) of Wilson, Deborah Radford (David) of Rocky Mount, and Vera Beaman (Doug) of Wilson; granddaughters, Taylor Rhodes, Brittany Peele (James), Cheyenne Peele (Bladen), Sierra Peele, Katlyn Simoes Rivero (Emil), Elizabeth Reyes, Elias Reyes; grandson, Ryan Peele; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Rhodes and her beloved fur baby, Abby and grand fur babies, Monkey and Paisley that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Inez Eatmon Evans.
