Jason Ray Price
March 14, 1993 – April 26, 2016
Jason Ray Price, 23, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. His funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peace Church, 2838 Tilghman Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex. The Rev. Scott Coghill will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the residence.
Jason was a volunteer firefighter with Cove City Fire Department and he loved NASCAR racing and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He never met a stranger, and his infectious smile was admired by all. He was a hard worker who had a passion for life. Jason loved his family and was a friend to all who knew him. He was a member of New Life FWB Church of New Bern and loved his church family dearly.
Jason is survived by his parents, David Melvin Price and Sharon Hawley Price of Wilson; his brother, David Graham Price and Lonni Beth of Dover; his maternal grandmother, Erlene Lipe Hawley of Middlesex; paternal grandparents, Donnie K. Price, Sr. and Shirley M. Price of Middlesex; beloved nephew, Levi Price of Dover; his aunts and uncles, Frances Hawley Willis and husband, Eddie, Frankie Hawley, Jr. and wife, Katie, Larry Price and wife, Cindy, Ronnie Price and wife, Kathy, Wayne Price and wife, Ellen, Donna Duncan and husband, Terry, Rev. Donnie Price and wife, Tracy, and Thomas Price and wife, Candace, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank Hawley, Sr.
Flowers are welcome or memorials can be made in Jason’s memory to the Grace City Church, 24 Prosa, Irvine, California 92620, where Jason’s youth pastor, Rev. Stephen Kimbrell is planting a new church.
