Jasper Graham Stem, 77, of Wilson passed away Friday.-Funeral services will be conducted 6 p.m. Sunday at Joyner-s Funeral Home by Rev. LaVon Phillips.-A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park by Rev. Doug Radford.-/p>

The family will receive friends 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the home.

Jasper was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.-He will be greatly missed and remembered with smiles, laughter and heartfelt memories.-Jasper was an active boy scout for 42 years, and received the honor of Silver Beaver Award. This honorable award is given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication and many years of service.-He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Nationwide agent and adjustor for 38 years.-He was a very active member of the Republican Party, and was the campaign manager for Governor James Martin in 1984 and 1988 for Wilson County.-Jasper was a member of the Elks Lodge #840 and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.-Jasper served his country honorably for four years with Air Force.

Jasper is survived by his wife, Edna Smith Stem of the home; his daughter, Bettie Stem Mitchell and husband, Robert of Summerville, SC; his sons, Jasper G. Stem, Jr. and wife, Christi of Smithfield, Dr. Eric S. Stem and wife, Andrea of Summerville, SC and Kevin A. Stem of Grand Forks, ND; his grandchildren, Kara S. Stem, Kamryn G. Stem, Clayton -Alex- Stem, Jacob Mitchell and Brenna Mitchell and his brothers, Fred H. Stem, Jr. of Aiken, SC and Ernest H. Stem of Oxford, NC.

Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be directed to the Boy Scout of America, East Carolina Council, PO Box 1698, Kinston, NC-28503 or the Farmington Heights Church of God, Surge Center, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, NC-27896.

All boy scouts are invited to attend in uniform.
