Jean Skinner Barnes
January 11, 1957 – May 16, 2021
Jean Skinner Barnes, 64 of Lucama passed away Sunday. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, with the family receiving friends immediately following. The Rev. Benny Poythress will officiate.
Jean was retired from the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who knew her. Jean was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Jean is survived by her husband, Mickey Barnes of the home; daughter, Kayla Jean Barnes of Lucama; son, Shannon Michael Barnes and wife, Stephanie of Lucama; twin granddaughters, Shannon Michaela Barnes and Justice Mae Barnes and Autumn Ila Barnes, and her brothers, William “Buddy” Skinner and wife, Peggy of Lucama and Bobby Lee Skinner and wife, Debbie of Wilson and twin brothers, Ricky Skinner and wife, Venise and Mickey Skinner both of Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George “Buck” and Elsie Skinner; brother, Charles E. “Dick” Skinner and her sister-in-law, Mary Skinner Webb.
