Jean Ellis Edwards

Jean Ellis Edwards February 1, 1929 – April 24, 2016 Jean Ellis Edwards, 87, of Wilson passed away Sunday. Her graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Justin Deeter will officiate. The family will receive friends in Evergreen following the service. Jean was a member of the Golden Circle Optimist Club and was very active in Forest Hill Baptist Church. She participated in the choir and the flower ministry and served as a Pre-School Sunday School Teacher. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her, she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Jean is survived by her loving husband, Grady Edwards of the home; daughters, Susan Ellis Deans and husband, Randy of Wilson and Luann Ellis Lamm and husband, Danny of Wilson; granddaughter, Joanie Parker and husband, Mark of Wilson; her grandsons, Brian Deans and wife, Crystal of Wilson, Eric Deans and wife, Jennifer of Apex, and Dr. Kevin Lamm and wife, Olive of Garner, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Roy and Ida Pearl Forbes Everette; her first husband, Cleveland Ellis, and sister, Peggy E. Grady. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Jean’s honor to Forest Hills Baptist Church, 1407 Forest Hills Road, Wilson, North Carolina 27896.
