Jean Smith Pittman
June 7, 1930 – November 1, 2020
Jean Smith Pittman, 90 of Wilson passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
Jean was a loving, caring, fun-hearted soul. She loved big band music, and often enjoyed singing and dancing around the house, entertaining us all. Her taste in music coincides with her taste in men, as she married her high school sweetheart whom not only matched the rhythm of her heart, but also was an active musician. She loved life and never met a stranger. Jean took pride in being a loving Grandmother. Hannah and Hunter were the apple of her eye. There was nothing she enjoyed more than cheering on Hunter at his baseball games and watching Hannah dance gracefully at her dance recitals.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Pam Pittman and Angie Hackett; grandchildren, Hannah Hackett (Justin Pierce) and Hunter Hackett; nephews, Eric Moore, Aubrey Moore and David Moore (Joanie); great-nieces, Betsy Berndt (Martin) and Amy Boyette and her great-nephew, David Moore (Joy).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Battle Forbes Pittman; parents, Robert Lee and Sadie Lee Dunn Smith and her sister, Marjorie S. Moore.
Special thanks to Robin Bass, director of nursing and the staff at Wilmed Rehab and Nursing Center.
