Jean Miller Thompson
March 11, 1936 – February 14, 2017
Dorothy “Jean” Miller Thompson, 80, of Wilson passed away Tuesday, February 14, surrounded by her loving family. Her memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 17, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 5142 NC Hwy 58 N, Wilson. The Rev. Steve Stephenson will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, Georgia.
The family will receive friends Friday evening following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Terri and Bucky.
Jean worked as a secretary with NC Department of Transportation in Wilson for over thirty years. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with all her family.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Terri Robbins and husband, Bucky of Elm City, Beth Parker and husband, Mitch of Swansboro, and Lisa Harris of Wilson; grandchildren, Leslie Nowell and husband, PJ, Jamie Parker, Justin Harris, Mary Beth Harris, Breanna Parker, Miller Robbins and, wife, Lauren, and Tori Parker; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Harry Miller of East Point, Georgia; her brother-in-law, Gene Sutherland of Jonesboro, Georgia, and her many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Thompson; her parents, Norris and Sarah Miller, and her twin sister, Joan Sutherland.
