Jeanette Morgan Neal

Jeanette Morgan Neal, 76, of Wilson passed away Saturday, at UNC Hospital,   surrounded by her loving daughter, son, sister and daughter-in-law after a courageous battle with heart disease.  A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 8102 NC Hwy 42, Kenly.  Interment will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery with the Rev. Andy Cockrell officiating. The family will receive friends 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Jeanette lived in Wilson County all her adult life.  She married Bill Neal, they built a home together, farming and owning and operating Neal’s Grill.  Jeanette was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to everyone she knew. Her grandchildren called her Nette and she continued to fight to the very end hoping she could see them grow into the person they would become.  Nette’s grace, poise and smile were constant.   She was a friend to everyone, someone who offered a warm smile with a positive attitude.  She was graceful, giving and will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will warm the heart and bring joy. Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Linda Herndon and husband, David of Kenly; her son, Glenn Neal and wife, Scarlett of Kenly; her grandchildren; Robert Whitworth Cunningham III,  Addison Blalock Neal, William Chandler Neal, Coalter Jackson Neal; her sister, Sandra M. Barnes and late husband, Billy Barnes of Kenly; her brother, Jesse Edward Morgan and wife, Carol of Laurinburg; her sister-in-law, Janice Neal Sharp; her brother-in-law, Wayne “Happy” Neal;  her nieces, Lori Morgan Winstead, Becky Barnes Worley, Brenda Neal Gaddy, JoAnn Neal Hare and Diane Sharp Boston; her nephews, Roddy Blake Morgan, Brent Connor Barnes, Russell Morgan, Ricky Morgan and Will Sharp as well as all of her extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Neal and her brothers, George Russell Morgan and Robert Earl Morgan.
