Jennifer Lynn Williamson
August 16, 1963- January 27, 2020
Lynn died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday morning. A celebration of her life will be conducted at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Thursday January 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Walt Tyndall and Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. At other times the family will be at the home of Robert and Pam Boyette’s.
Lynn is survived by her mother, Myrtle Evans Williamson; sister, Pamela W. Boyette and husband, Robert; niece, Regan Boyette Dawson and husband, Derek, and her great-niece and namesake, Kennedy Lynn Dawson; aunts, Joann Bushong, Betty Cox; uncle, William R. Williamson; many cousins and special family friend, Audrey “Dee Dee” Edmonson and caregiver, Brenda Long. Lynn’s extended family were all the clients at her home in Winterville- Jenn, Frances, Helen, Hollis, Leon, Crystal, Angela, Randy, Clayton, Ishmael, Michael and all the wonderful staff.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby R. Williamson and grandmother, Annie R. Williamson.
Lynn was always a ray of light in everyone’s life no matter the many struggles that she faced. She was a lifelong member of Milbournie FWB Church. First and foremost, she was steadfast in her faith. Being a special needs adult, she taught all of those around her so much about life. Material things really didn’t matter-it was simple things that many of us take for granted. Before leaving Wilson in 2014 she was very active at Diversified Opportunities and always talked about wanting to go back to see all her friends and staff there. She was a member of “The Hope Singers” and so enjoyed singing solos that came straight from her heart. She found pleasure in bowling and reading. There was never a time you didn’t see a book in her hand up until her the last few months. You could always count on her bubbly personality, sweet smile, and know she wasn’t going to let you out of her sight before she talked with you.
Our family would like to express our gratitude for the care she received the last couple of weeks at Accordius Health in Wilson. Never have we experienced such genuine loving care for Lynn and our family.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Lynn’s memory to Free Will Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 249, Middlesex, North Carolina 27557, Diversified Opportunities 1010 Herring Ave. E Wilson, North Carolina 27893 or Milbournie FWB Church, 5106 Raleigh Rd Pkwy.
