Jerry Williams Harris

Jerry Williams Harris August 17, 1949 – June 25, 2015 Jerry Williams Harris, born August 17, 1949, died of a heart attack at his home June 25, 2015, following months of poor health. Jerry lived in the Mt. Pleasant and Bailey community. He shared the family home with his mother till last summer, when her health required that she move into assisted living. Jerry is survived by his mother Marie Williams Harris, currently a resident at The Oaks of Mayview Nursing Care, Raleigh; his sister Connie Harris Stein, and his brother Walter M. Harris, Jr. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter M. Harris and his brother, James Donald Harris. Jerry enjoyed NASCAR and basketball, laughing with many friends, and he had a life-long passion for horses. Above all, he loved his mother. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 in the Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey for friends and family to say good-bye. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested in Jerry’s honor to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 6048 Mount Pleasant Road, Bailey, NC 27807. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
