Jerry Gay Pridgen, age 73, of Wilson, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Mr. Pridgen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He cherished his time with his family and friends watching Duke Basketball, doing anything outdoors including waterskiing, hunting, playing golf and coaching baseball. Jerry received a Wilson County Athletic Association Lifetime Coaching Award after coaching all three of his sons and many others for over 20 years. His dogs were a source of great companionship to him over the years. He spent his early years partnering in a family business before serving the City of Wilson for over 25 years. Jerry will be remembered for his strong faith, his love of sports, and his unwavering patience as a coach and a teacher. Whether on the field or the water his love for helping others was one of his greatest assets. He will be deeply missed by all that were blessed to know him.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25th, from 1-2:45pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy, Wilson, NC. A memorial service will begin at 3:00pm in the chapel.
