Jimmie David Bridgers, 88, of Bridgersville Community passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 5, 2013.   Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at Wilbanks Christian Church, Elm City.   Interment will follow in Bridgers Family Cemetery, Bridgersville.
The Rev. Dwight Batts will officiate.

The family will receive friends 1 -1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Wilbanks Christian Church, 6128 NC Hwy 42, East, Elm City and other times at the home.

Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that will be missed by family and friends.   He was a retired farmer and cabinet maker.   He served his country faithfully and honorably with the Marines during War World II.  

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Jones Bridgers of the home; his son, Rodney Bridgers and wife, Peggy of Elm City; his daughters, Kathy B. Williams of Edenton, Merry Brown and husband, Bobby of Elm City and Patty Carter and husband, Ken of Sunset Beach; his grandchildren, Kristie Jones and husband, Kevin of Black Mountain, Kim Pittman and husband, Chris of Wilson, Caleb Bridgers of Fort Mead, Maryland, Shannon Comerford and husband, Chris of Bailey, Paul C. Williams, Jr., and wife, Jenny of Edenton, David B. Williams and wife, Elizabeth of Holly Springs and Christopher Carter and Krista of Charlotte and his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Daniel Pittman, Zoe Comerford, Rylee Comerford, Sally Rhodes Williams and Connor Llorens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Sally Bridgers; his brothers, Ervin Bridgers and Vertis Bridgers; his sisters, Rosa Wallace and Violet Mae Bridgers and his son-in-law, Paul C. Williams, Sr.
