Jimmie Douglas Worrell

Jimmie Douglas Worrell, 81, of Bailey passed away Monday, June 10, 2024.   A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey.  Rev. Rusty Russell will officiate.

Jimmie served his country with honor and pride with the United States Air Force.  He was a farmer for over fifty years, and was well known as the Watermelon Man.  Jimmie was a loving father, grandfather, brother to all who knew him, he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Susan Worrell-Bridgers and husband, Chad of Bailey; son, Jeffery Worrell of Bailey; grandson, Chasen Bridgers of Bailey; granddaughter, Ava Nicole Bridgers of Bailey; his siblings, Linda Faye Price of Sims; Bobby Worrell and wife, Vickie of Bailey, Deborah Keeny and husband, Jake of Bailey, and Beverly Hill of Bailey; sister-in-law, Jean Worrell of Sims, and a host of several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Lamm Worrell; parents, Johnnie and Ruby Worrell, and his brother, Johnnie “Billy” Worrell.
