Jimmy Ray Collier
July 8, 1952 – August 13, 2015
Jimmy Ray Collier, 63, of Wilson passed away Thursday. His memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. The Rev. Steve Strickland will officiate.
The family will receive friends 2 – 3:45 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Jimmy was a loving husband, step-father, brother and friend to all that knew him. He retired with the Wilson County School system, where he was a fun teacher and coach that all the children remember. He loved all sports and was an avid golfer and baseball player. Jimmy will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Carol of the home; his step-daughter, Kristen J. Caddy and husband, Mike of Rocky Mount and his step-son, Greg Johnson and wife, Jennifer of Wilson; his sisters, Jeannie Collier of Durham, Judy C. Pittman and husband, Bo of Wilson, and Jacqueline Collier of Wilmington; his step-grandchildren, Layla Bass, Landen Bass, Larson Bass and Ben Caddy and his daughter, Constance Collier and his son, Jameson Collier.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Ethel Collier.
