J.L Baker Jr. July 10, 1931 – July 5, 2015 Jasper “J.L.” Baker, Jr. 83, of Wilson passed away Sunday. His funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 1407 Forest Hills Road, Wilson. Interment will follow in Queen Anne Cemetery, Fountain. The Rev. Justin Deeter and Rev. Frank Owens will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship at Forest Hills Baptist Church. J.L. was a committed follower of Christ, a loyal husband, daddy, an endearing brother and uncle, and a faithful friend. He was an avid model train collector and a charter member and a former Captain of the Farmville Rescue Squad. J.L. is survived by his wife, of fifty-seven years, Dorothy Taylor Baker of the home; his daughter, Cathy D. Baker of Raleigh and his sister, Lois Baker Harris of Greenville.
