John Wesley Curlings

John Wesley Curlings, 86. Of Wilson passed away Friday at home. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Jerry Nelson and Rev. Ricky Nelms will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 4504 Evansdale Road, Wilson.
John was active member of the Westmoreland Pentecostal Church for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
John is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Nona Joyner Curlings; children, J.C. Curlings and wife, Debbie of Selma, Diane Combs and husband, Bobby of Elm City, Earl Curlings of Wilson, Ginger Arnold and husband, Wyatt of Wilson and Terry Curlings of Knightdale and special friend, Todd Byrd; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters; Dinah Parker and Geraldine Coats both of Melbourne, Florida; his brothers, Jimmy Curlings and wife, Mary of Washington, Mickey Curlings and wife, Rose of Nashville, Dusty Curlings and wife, JoAnn of Washington and Tommy Curlings and wife, Hilda of Tarboro; several loving nieces and nephews; and Spanky, his furry child.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Pearce; parents, John T. and Bertha Cockrell Curlings and his brothers, Ventrence Curlings, J.T. Curlings, Wilbur Curlings and Sammy Curlings.
