John Wade Dew
December 10, 1963 – December 27, 2016
John Wade Dew, 53, of Middlesex, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2016. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson. Interment will follow in the Dew Family Cemetery, West Hornes Church Road. The Rev. Timothy Deans and Rev. Jeff Westerfield will officiate.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
John was a member of White Oak Hill FWB Church of Bailey. He was employed by Universal North America Leaf Tobacco Company of Castalia for 25 years as a Blending Manager. He was presently working part-time for Alliance One Tobacco Company. One year, John traveled to Argentina to share his expertise about his knowledge of the tobacco industry. He was devoted to his family and friends.
John was the first grandson of the W.B. Williams family for ten years. What a joy he was when the Lord sent this little, sweet baby to both the Williams and Dew families. John grew up and attended Wilson Christian Academy, where he loved sports and was loved by everyone with his sweet out-going personality. He never met a stranger and was a friend to many. We will always remember John with his great big country smile.
After he graduated, he met the love of his life, Tammy Brown and they spent 34 years together, and he was the proud father of his son, Jeremy Wade Dew; granddaughter, Jennifer Brooke Dew; parents, Billy John and Rebecca Dew and his in-laws, Jimmy and Shelia Brown.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Dew Worrell; grandparents, Homie and Eula Dew and W.B. and Audrey Williams, and his brother-in-law, Ryan Brown.
The family would like to express how deeply they appreciate all the love, support, prayers and every act of kindness we received from our many friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested in John’s memory to the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home of Middlesex, PO Box 249, Middlesex, North Carolina 27557.
