John Harold Forehand
February 17, 1923 – March 22, 2018
John Harold Forehand, 95 of Wilson passed away Thursday. A Military graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Robert Bergland and Rev. Charles Robl will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Maplewood.
John was born in Pikeville to the late John William and Mildred Anderson Forehand. He was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and served in Europe. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force Reserve, the U.S. Postal Service and Belk. John was a member of the First Methodist Church, where he was a past president of the Men’s Fellowship class. He was also the past president of the Wilson Kiwanis Club and past master of Mount Lebanon Masonic Lodge 117 AM FM. Due to his active lifestyle, one of his favorite places was the Wilson YMCA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Katherine Moss Forehand; sisters, Hazel Midgett, and Hilda Colbert, and his brothers, Cecil Forehand, and William H. Forehand.
John is survived by his daughters, Katherine S. Forehand of Wilson, Margaret Morgan and husband, Gary of Round Hill, Virginia, and Vivian Forehand of Charlotte; grandchildren, Stephen Lamm and wife, Wendy, Daniel Lamm and wife, Cameron, William Sawrey, Dr. Kelly Morgan and husband, Jay Creswell, and Michael Morgan and wife, Erin.
