John Bartley Strickland

John Bartley Strickland October 24, 1925 – December 1, 2020 John Bartley Strickland, age 95, of Middlesex went to be with his Lord on December 1, 2020. John was the son of the late Floyd W. and Olzie P. Strickland. John is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary Boykin Strickland; daughter, Kathy Byrns and husband, Dale; son, Brooks Strickland; granddaughter, Andrea Edwards and husband, Chris; grandson, Stephen Byrns; great-granddaughter, Kristen Gupton and husband, Colby; sister-in-law, Catherine Strickland as well as other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two-year old daughter, Dianne; brother, Willis Strickland and sister, Gertrude Saunders. John was a member of Stony Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He loved his family deeply and valued his many friends. He will be greatly missed. While there will not be a family visitation due to Covid-19, you are welcome to stop by the funeral home on Thursday, December 3. A graveside service will be held at Bailey Cemetery, 11379 NC 581 Hwy, Bailey, North Carolina on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Buddy Wagnon and Reverend Allen Stanley officiating.
