John Thomas Etheridge

John Thomas Etheridge November 16, 1938 – October 21, 2021 John \"Tom\" Thomas Etheridge, 82 of Wilson passed away Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. “Tom” was a loving and devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend to all who knew him. A lifelong career as a salesman, \"Tom\" had a natural affinity for people. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, member of the Free and Accepted Masons, and past president of the Evening Optimist Club. He enjoyed fishing, hosting cookouts and get-togethers at his home, and above all he loved his family. \"Tom\" is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Andrea; daughters, Priscilla A. Etheridge of Wilson, Wendy E. Bailey and husband, Joe, of Goldsboro, and Tammy E. Hunt and husband, Justin of Wilson; grandchildren, Grace Bailey, Lily Bailey, Charlotte Hunt, and Thomas Hunt; sisters, Joyce Reale and Judy Dixon, and a brother, Harry Etheridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev Cicero and Mrs. Pauline Etheridge; brother, Richard A. Etheridge, and sister, Esther E. Edmondson.
