John Joseph Walker

John Joseph Walker, 60, passed away on Tuesday, November 28.  The family will receive friends Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 11 – 2 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite sports team apparel.

John served his country faithfully and honorably with the United States Marine Corps, including Desert Storm.  He loved grilling and was an avid Miami Dolphins fan.  John also loved splitting wood.

John is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Sallie Wells Walker; sons, John J. Walker, Jr., Patrick M. Walker, and George S. Walker; sister, Margaret Neddo and husband, Art; brother, George Walker, Jr.; sisters, Maureen Maynor Demott and husband, Bill, Patricia Walker; his in-laws, Graham and Becky Wells; brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews, and multiple loving best friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, George J. Walker and Patricia Flaherty Walker and his sister, Kathleen Walker.
