Jonathan Aric Greer

Jonathan Aric Greer, 54, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023.  A special gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at Joyner’s Funeral Home in Wilson, NC from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

He was employed for 23 years at Eagle Transport Corporation in Rocky Mount, NC and was the Vice President of Operations.  He was very dedicated and proud to be a part of the Eagle family. 

Jonathan was a dedicated husband and father.  His love for his family shined through everything he did.  He was also an avid fisherman of the Pamlico Sound where he spent his time fishing with his favorite buddies Danny Temple and Richard Credle.  He treasured the time he spent at their second home in Hyde County, also known as the “Crab Shack.”  Jonathan’s three favorite things were family, football and fishing.

Jonathan is survived by his wife, Sharon Boykin Greer; daughter, Kourtney Whitley; mother, Sylvia Dawn Mitchell and husband, Rocky Mitchell; brother, Jeffrey Greer and his wife, Lisa; sister-in-law, Sylvia Temple and brother-in-law, Danny Temple; aunt, Sonya Boyer; cousins, Lora Livingston and husband, Laird, and Lisa Porter and husband, Bobby; beloved fur-babies, Sadie and Lippy; and a host of extended family, including cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, James “Jim” Alfred Greer and brother, Jason Greer; and Geraldine “Nana” Boykin.
