Joseph Michael Barnes November 26, 1948 – May 31, 2021 Joseph Michael Barnes, 72 of Elm City passed away Monday. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Bill Presnell will officiate. Joseph is survived by his wife, Donna Bass Barnes; daughter, Melissa Barnes Sharpe and husband, Chris of Wake Forest; sons, Travis Michael Barnes and Jeremy Michael Barnes both of Wilson; grandchildren, Delaney Sharpe and Victoria Sharpe, and his sister, Patricia Hudgins and husband, Pat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Riley Provo and Earnest Derwood Barnes, and his step-father, Robert Solomon Provo.
