Joseph Alton Barnes, 84, of Wilson passed away Sunday.  A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Wilson.  The Rev. Dave Amon will officiate. The family will receive friends 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Alton is survived by his daughter, Deborah McDaniel and husband, Ross of Wilson; his son, Frederick Barnes and wife, Jeanie of Wilson and his granddaughters, Sydney McDaniel and Connor McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Creech Barnes; his sisters, Lois B. Allen and Emily Jean Barnes and his brother, Horace Barnes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 8102 NC Hwy 42 W, Kenly, NC  27542. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
