Joseph Francis Culkin, 87, of Wilson formerly of Levitown, PA and Avoca, PA passed away Sunday.  A memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash Street E, Wilson.  The Rev. Paul Brant, SJ will officiate.  A memorial service will be conducted 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Our Lady of the Apostle (formerly St. Mary’s) in Avoca, PA.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Avoca, PA. Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph William Culkin and wife, Janice of NY, Brian Culkin and wife, Patricia of NJ, David Culkin and wife, Julia Cowles of CA and Martin Culkin of Wilson; his eight grandchildren, David, Leigh, Sean, Julia, Matthew, Danielle, Andrew and Meagan and her mother, Patricia Bradshaw; his great-grandchild, Joseph Aedin; his sister, Rosemary Dommermuth and brothers, Francis Culkin, John Culkin, Thomas Culkin and Patrick Culkin. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Lourdes Mary Culkin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE  68010, St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash Street E, Wilson, NC  27893 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
