Joseph Franklin Hollis
October 5, 1942 – March 20, 2016
Joseph Franklin “Frank” Hollis, 73, of Bailey formerly of Holly Ridge, left this earthly life to live in the glorious presence of His heavenly Father Sunday. His funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Pastor Timothy Dean and Rev. Reuben Cason will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bailey Town Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Frank will always be remembered for his love and commitment to his family and friends, his church and church family, his willingness to help others anyway he could while he was able. His love of working, for retirement was a word not in his vocabulary, but mostly of his lifelong love and knowledge of NASCAR racing and drivers of which he could talk about for hours. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and knew him best.
Frank is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Linda B. Hollis of the home; his sons and best buddies, Joseph “Joe” Hollis, Jr. and wife, Lynn, and Rodney Hollis, both of Sims; his granddaughter, Lauren Hollis; his grandson, Joseph W. Hollis; great-grandson, Bentley Hollis; his sister, Doris Hollis Morris and husband, Bill; his brother, Stephen Hollis and wife, Judy; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; his beloved pet, Bella and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank B. Hollis and Rillie Ottaway Hollis; his sister, Connie H. Matthews; brother, Jason Hollis; his niece, Davina Hollis, and nephew, Stevie Hollis.
