Joseph “Joe” Alton Liggins Walsh August 3, 1949 – January 24, 2021 Joseph “Joe” Alton Liggins Walsh, 71 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Marsh Swamp Church Cemetery. The Rev. Carolyn Yelverton will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Joe attended the Power House of Praise Church in Wilson. He served his country honorably and faithfully with the U.S. Air Force. Joe is survived by his sister, Alma Snow of Jamestown. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces including loving nieces, Brenda Liggins Joyner and Peggy Leggins Pitt best friends, Duke and Geraldine Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Hubert and Myrtle Lee Tedder Leggins, five brothers and a sister.
