Josephine Lewis Newcomb December 21, 1933 – September 26, 2015 Josephine Lewis Newcomb, 81, of Middlesex, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2015, surrounded by her family. Her memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 at the New Jerusalem Church, Hwy 222, Kenly. The Rev. Jasper Renfrow will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the New Jerusalem Church and other times at the home. Josephine is survived by her husband of forty years, John Henry Newcomb; her daughters, Jeannie S. Wright and husband, Wayne, Jennifer Jo Stephenson and husband, Ray; her son, Jerry Lewis Stancil and wife, Rhonda; her five grandchildren, Christopher Lee Wright and wife, Shelly, Kevin Dwayne Wright and wife, Joy, Allyson Ramsey Stephenson, Rachael Matthews and husband, Steve, and Jonathan Adams, and her eleven great-grandchildren, Kasey Jean Wright, Madison Caroline Wright, William Harris Wright, Evan Ray Wright, Cooper Grace Buffaloe, Mary Clark Matthews, Edy Matthews, Chancy Matthews, Jackson Adams, Taylor Adams and Jaden Adams. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Fletcher “Buster” Stancil; her parents, Odell and Crettie Lewis; her sisters, Cathleen Lewis Medlin, Lena Vazelle Bristol, Hilda Gray Johnson and Judy Kaye Lewis, and her brother, J.W. Lewis. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to made in Josephine memory to the New Jerusalem Church, c/o Sue Hill, 6599 Hwy 22, Kenly, NC 27542.
