Joyce Skinner Boykin November 24, 1929 – March 15, 2015 Joyce Skinner Boykin, 85, of Wilson, passed away Sunday. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Nobles Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Sims, NC. The Rev. Paul Batson will officiate. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, and other times at 4917 Bloomery Rd., Wilson. Surviving are two daughters, Betty Jo Sledge and husband, Steve of Raleigh, and Janet Cockrell and husband, David of Wilson; a son, Alan Boykin and wife, Donna of Lucama; five grandchildren, Catherine Sledge Foy and husband, Spoon, Rachel Sledge, McKensie Sledge, Sarah C. Denton, and Tyler Boykin; two great-grandchildren, Chaz Denton and Abby Foy; and a nephew, Johnny Skinner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Boykin, and her parents, Starkey and Leona Bell Skinner.
