Rev. Melvin Turner, 78, of Wilson passed away Friday.-Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Joyner-s Funeral Home.-Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.-The Rev. Emmett Turner and Rev. Daniel Taylor will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Rev. Turner is survived by his wife, Alice Pittman Turner of the home; his daughter, Linda Faye Turner of Fayetteville; his son, Danny L. Turner of Wilson; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sister, Martha Thorne and husband, Ervin of Aberdeen; his brothers, Rev. Emmett Earl Turner and wife, Esther, Gene Turner and wife, Jean and Ray Turner and wife, Barbara all of Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
