Juan Carlos “Papi” Cardoso, 86, of Wilson passed away Monday. The family will receive friends, 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Kristina Horne, 4101 Huntsmoor Lane, Wilson. “Papi” was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He came to America in 1969 by himself and worked until he saved enough to money to bring his wife and two children to live the American Dream. J. Carlos is survived by his wife, Francisca Bruno Cardoso of the home; his daughter, Maria Cristina Cardoso of the home; his son, Juan Carlos Cardoso of Phoenix AR; his granddaughters, Maria Gabriela Brunetti and Maria Daniela Brunetti both of the home, Maria Kristina Horne and husband, Tony of Wilson, Sara Elizabeth Cardoso and Anna Felicia Cardoso both of Virginia Beach, VA ; his great-granddaughters, Skylar Isabella Brunetti and Ashlyn Francesca Brunetti of the home and Rebecca and Jackson Rose Cardoso both of Virginia Beach; his great-grandsons, Antonia L. Horne of Wilson and Christian Cardoso of Virginia Beach and his special friends, Mark and Celina Anaya of Newport News, VA and Cesar and Tere Lara of Newport News, VA He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brian Christopher Cardoso.
