Juanita Poythress Walston

Juanita Poythress Walston, 80, passed away on Thursday, February 22.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at 2:00 pm at Hornes Methodist Church, 145 W Hornes Church Rd, Wilson.  Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2800 Nash Street N, Wilson.  Her grandson, Pastor Kevin Teague and Reverend John Check will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 26 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Donna Teague.

Juanita was a faithful member of Hornes Methodist Church.  Above all else, faith and family were everything to her.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Donna W. Teague of Wilson; grandson, Kevin Teague and wife, Elizabeth of Wilson; sister-in-law, Norma Davis Poythress of Sims; sister-in-law, Doris Flowers Poythress of Wilson; former son-in-law, Kelly Teague; and several nieces and nephews.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Mack Poythress and Alma Mercer Poythress; brothers, Chester Poythress and wife, Norma, Pete Poythress and wife, Grace, Douglas Gene Poythress and wife, Janie, William “Bill” Poythress and wife, Elsie, Roscoe “Carroll” Poythress, Henry L. Poythress, and H.M. Poythress and wife, Jeanette. 

The family would like to give special thanks to Autumn Care of Nashville and Kitty Askins of Goldsboro.
